Cybersecurity

Fighting cybercrime is humanity’s biggest challenge in 2021 & beyond

Securing Global Networks and Information Systems is the world’s biggest challenge!

The news portals are full of brazen cybercrime acts. Malta is currently experiencing a wave of parcel delivery scams, costing individuals a couple of hundred Euro when they fall into the trap of thinking the post is legit. The Nationalist Party had one of its servers hacked and a ransom was demanded. A company saw a hard earned €90,000 to a swindle with the owners left speechless! And the police force has very little chance to apprehend these criminal syndicates that are spread throughout the globe, and are simply eyeballs on computer screens.

Cybercrime is deeper and wider than picking on unsuspecting account holders. Just a month ago, cyber-criminals demanded $4.3 million as ransom to re-open an oil pipeline that supplied the East Coast of the USA. Some days later, a cyberattack crippled most Irish hospitals.

As humans dig deeper in technology for all aspects of life, the necessity to protect society from cybercrime is becoming a top item in every government or corporation agenda, because cybercrime does not simply rob — it can maim, kill and start wars!
